Bob Berry and Mark O’Donnell
Industry veterans Bob Berry and Grant Hortenstine among six specialists to arrive
Savills has announced the arrival of industrial real estate experts Bob Berry as vice chairman, Grant Hortenstine as managing director, Jacob Bravo as associate director, Thomas Berry as assistant director, and Tonya Huynh and Kendra Pell as client services coordinators. The six-member team will be based in the firm’s Houston office.
“We have added what many consider to be the strongest industrial team in Houston,” said Vice Chairman and Southwest Region Lead Mark O’Donnell. “Incorporating this niche group of experienced and high-performance advisers to our office strengthens our ability to service our clients’ multidisciplinary needs at the highest caliber.”
Prior to Savills, Bob Berry served as principal at Avison Young and executive vice president at JLL. Over his 36-year career, he has negotiated more than $10 billion worth of industrial leases and acquisitions. He has amassed numerous awards including four Houston NAIOP, Inc. Industrial Broker of the Year recognitions and an induction into the Broker of the Year Hall of Fame. Bob Berry was the number one industrial producer at JLL three times over, and he was the second overall global producer at Avison Young from 2016 to 2019.
Alongside Bob Berry, Hortenstine arrives from Avison Young with a background in both real estate and finance. He is proficient in both valuation services and a wide range of real estate advisory services, including sales, build-to-suits, investments, site selection, lease negotiation, lease restructure, and sale/leasebacks. He has advised companies from across the industrial spectrum, such as logistics, distribution, manufacturing, chemical/hazmat storage, resin packaging, and food/beverage. Hortenstine’s proven track record in commercial real estate and consulting earned him the 2017 Houston NAIOP’s Rising Star Award for Industrial.
Bravo and Thomas Berry will assist in the structuring and negotiation of commercial leases and acquisition and disposition of owned or leased properties. Huynh and Pell will support team’s account management functions and project implementation processes.
The group’s arrival builds on Savills continued growth and expansion in the Houston market. The firm recently added tenant representation heavy hitters Lesa Nickelson French, Garrold Parratt and Robby Winston to the office, as well as Surplus Property Consulting Services lead Mark Alvarez.
